For our South Mississippi viewers, the threat of severe weather has increased for today. The Storm Prediction Center has placed areas south of US 84 in a SLIGHT (2/5) risk for damaging winds from 3-9 PM. This will be a similar setup like we saw yesterday afternoon and evening across North/Central Mississippi.

It is with the deepest sadness that we announcements the passing of Assistant Chief Freddie Leggett. Freddie joined the department when it was organized in the early 1970's. He served the department in many roles and loved his many years in the fire service.

Arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced soon. Please continue to keep the department and the Leggett family in your prayers.
