Stay weather aware today! Have a plan in case of hazardous weather conditions this afternoon and evening.

**OUTDATED** SEE LATEST UPDATE!
⚠️Confidence is increasing that parts of Indiana could see a significant severe weather event today, but there are still important uncertainties with this event. There is still the potential for a widespread severe weather outbreak today if things come together!

The biggest question revolves around how early storms and rain impact the atmosphere to and where the warm front ultimately sets up (pictured below). Areas that end up south of the warm front will have the greatest potential to tap into the warm, unstable air needed for stronger storms. It is in this area that widespread severe weather is possible and even the possibility of significant severe weather! This includes strong tornadoes!

Round 1 may also pose a severe risk to Indiana. Damaging winds is the primary hazard however, it is expected to slow down which may allow the warm front to catch up to it. If this happens we may see some strong to severe storms develop along the southern edge of this complex.

The greatest tornado & severe potential today will also be along and south of the warm front or near any boundaries left behind by early storms. These boundaries can also act as mini warm fronts. Unfortunately we can't write off any one scenario at this time as all cards are still on the table. Stay tuned for updates this afternoon as revisions/updates are likely as we see which scenario develops. A southern shift has been trending today.

-TIMING-
ROUND ONE- 1:00PM - 4:00PM
ROUND 2 - 4:00PM through 4am tomorrow morning. Round 2 may go past midnight into the morning hours.

-HAZARDS TODAY-
● Damaging winds 60-80mph
● Tornadoes (a few may be strong, potentially EF2+ if conditions allow)
● Large hail up to 2". Larger hail in semi discrete storms.
