Alert:
Replacement of a power pole at Guadalupe Trail and El Pueblo will be taking place on Friday, September 11, 2026, between the hours of 9am-2pm.

Guadalupe Trail will be reduced to one lane with a flagger in place directing traffic, please use caution.

⚠️ New speed cameras are now active on eastbound and westbound Paseo del Norte near the Rio Grande overpass.

Drivers who exceed the posted speed limit will receive warnings through Sept. 30. After the warning period ends, citations will be issued for violations.

The cameras are part of BernCo’s efforts to encourage safer speeds and reduce speed-related crashes.

BernCo’s Emergency Management Team was honored at tonight’s Board of County Commissioners meeting for recently earning the 2026 New Mexico Accessibility Award from Disability Pride New Mexico.
The team’s Access and Functional Needs Trailer, inspired by lessons learned during wildfire response, is helping make emergency shelters across the state more accessible for everyone. Congratulations to Director Thomas Walmsley, the entire team, and our community partners for this well-deserved honor.

's Department of Emergency Management is proud to introduce its new Access and Functional Needs (AFN) trailer - a mobile resource designed to help emergency shelters better serve residents with disabilities, older adults, and others with access and functional needs.

Packed with mobility equipment, communication aids, sensory resources, privacy dividers, and more, the trailer can be deployed to shelters during emergencies, trainings, and exercises across New Mexico.

Come see it for yourself at its public debut!
