Village Of Los Lunas Wins Statewide Economic Development Award for Meta Partnership

The Village of Los Lunas and our partners were honored with a 2026 New Mexico Economic Development Excellence Award (NM IDEA) in the category of Business Retention & Expansion for the Meta LEDA GRT Share Agreement.

The first-of-its-kind agreement brings together the Village of Los Lunas, Valencia County, New Mexico Economic Development Department, New Mexico Department of Taxation and Revenue, Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP, Rodey Law Firm, and Meta.

Through the agreement, 50% of the construction gross receipts tax generated by Meta’s expansion will be reinvested in critical local infrastructure, including roadway improvements connecting the growing west side of Los Lunas to the future I-25 interchange and Los Lunas Boulevard.

This project demonstrates what is possible when local government, state agencies, legal partners, and industry work together. We are proud of this partnership and the long-term infrastructure investment it will bring to our community.

The New Mexico Technology Council is excited to launch Future Ready: AI Pathways, a summer workshop series bringing accessible, hands-on AI education to Valencia County.

Designed especially for high school students and young adults, this series will help participants build practical AI skills for school, early career opportunities, and everyday problem-solving. Led by industry professionals and AI technology leaders, each session will explore how to use AI confidently, safely, ethically, and creatively.
