The Valencia County Sheriff’s Office Main Office will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026, in observance of Labor Day.

During the closure, assistance for non-emergency matters may be obtained by contacting Dispatch at (505) 865-2039. In the event of an emergency, please call 911.

Our Records Department will reopen on Tuesday and will be available to assist with records requests.

We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Labor Day weekend!

Hwy 47 is now back open. That you for your patience and cooporation.

🚨 TRAFFIC ALERT 🚨

Both northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 47 near Oakhurst are currently closed due to a crash investigation.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area and use the Manzano Expressway as an alternate route.

Please use caution, plan for delays, and follow all traffic control directions. An update will be posted when the roadway is reopened.

The Valencia County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a recent scam where callers claim a family member is in custody and that money must be paid to the Sheriff’s Office for their release.

This is a SCAM.

Scammers may spoof the Sheriff’s Office phone number and use the names of current or former employees to make the call appear legitimate. Please remember:

🚫 The Sheriff’s Office does not call family members asking for money to release someone from custody.

🚫 Warrants cannot be cleared by making a payment over the phone.

🚫 Never provide money, gift cards, credit card information, or banking information to these callers.

If you receive a call like this, hang up and contact the Valencia County Sheriff’s Office directly using a verified phone number. Please share this information with your family and friends. A few seconds of verification could prevent someone from becoming a victim.

What an incredible evening at our **2026 National Night Out!** We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to spend the evening with us. Seeing so many families, friends, and community members come together made this year's event another tremendous success.

A special **thank you to all of our sponsors** whose generosity made this event possible. Your support allowed us to provide food, school supplies, prizes, and activities for our community.

National Night Out is one of our favorite events of the year because it gives us the opportunity to connect with the people we proudly serve. Building relationships and strengthening partnerships is one of the best ways to keep Valencia County safe.

Visitors had the chance to meet our dedicated personnel and learn more about many of the specialized programs and resources we use every day, including:
