A Major Step Forward for Our Community!

The City of Los Fresnos is proud to have attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Old Alice Road Expansion Project in Cameron County.

This important project will improve connectivity, mobility, and safety between the City of Los Fresnos and the City of Brownsville, supporting continued growth and creating better transportation opportunities for our region.

The project will expand approximately 4.88 miles of Old Alice Road from a two-lane rural roadway to a four-lane urban roadway, including a center left-turn lane, shoulders, and sidewalks.

We are excited to see this investment move forward and look forward to the positive impact it will have on our residents, businesses, and surrounding communities.

Congratulations to Cameron County and all the partners involved in making this project possible!

The City of Los Fresnos and the Los Fresnos Community Development Corporation are proud sponsors of the 33rd Annual Conjunto Festival hosted by the Narciso Martinez Cultural Arts Center!

Join us on October 2-3, 2026, at Memorial Park in Los Fresnos for a weekend celebrating the rich musical heritage and cultural traditions of South Texas. Enjoy great live music, dancing, food, and family-friendly entertainment as we honor the legacy of conjunto music and its impact on our community.

From heavy rainfall to everyday runoff, what enters our storm drains can eventually impact our local waterways. Simple actions—like properly disposing of trash and keeping pollutants off our streets—can make a BIG difference! 🚯🌎

It was wonderful to bring valuable educational and workforce opportunities directly to our community and help connect residents with programs that can lead to new careers and professional growth.
