We are incredibly proud to announce that four Los Fresnos High School HOSA students have advanced to the HOSA International Leadership Conference (ILC) this June in Indianapolis, Indiana, following outstanding performances at the HOSA State Leadership Conference in Corpus Christi. Alheli Chavez, senior, earned 1st place in Life Support Skills, while seniors Matthew Gomez, Cristian Loera, and Brittany Rivera earned 3rd place in Biomedical Debate. Even more impressive, all four students also qualified for ILC last year and have advanced again—an exceptional accomplishment and a tremendous way to conclude their high school HOSA experience. Congratulations to our students and to their advisor, Ms. Erika Martinez, for representing our school, community, and Area 7 with excellence.

🌟 2030 Graduation Plan Parent Meeting 🌟

Last night’s 2030 Graduation Plan meeting was a powerful reminder of what makes our community special. Seeing so many parents actively involved in their children’s education truly reflects the partnership that drives student success in LFCISD.

We had meaningful conversations about the many opportunities available to our students, including:

• Dual Enrollment pathways that help students earn college credit early
• TSI Readiness and how families can support preparation
• AP Courses that challenge students academically and open doors to college-level learning
• CTE Programs of Study that connect students to real-world skills and career pathways
• Industry-Based Certifications that give students a competitive edge in the workforce

Our goal is simple: ensure every student has access to the tools, experiences, and support needed to thrive. LFCISD offers so much to our community, and it was inspiring to see families ready to help their children take full advantage of these opportunities.

Together, we are building strong futures—one student at a time.

Twenty-six students competed in the Texas Public Safety Association Region 5 competition held at Texas Southmost College ITECC Building in Brownsville, Texas, on January 9–10, 2026. From the 18 events in which Los Fresnos United and Los Fresnos High School students participated, the team earned 12 medals. As a result of their strong performances, 20 of the 26 students qualified to advance to the state competition, which will be held at Moody Gardens in Galveston, Texas.
The LFHS/LFU Law Enforcement Program, sponsored by Sherrell L. Quintero, focuses on character development and career-centered education for students interested in pursuing careers in criminal justice. Through this program, students gain firsthand experience and develop a clear understanding of the skills, professionalism, and commitment necessary to succeed in the criminal justice field.

Our Health Science Programs of Study continue to open doors for students and provide life-changing opportunities! This year, our talented students earned a total of 54 industry certifications for the Fall, saving our community over $270,000 in training costs! 💰👏
✅ Patient Care Technician/Phlebotomy Program

33 students earned double certification (PCT & Phlebotomy)
2 students earned Phlebotomy certification
Total: 35 certifications

✅ Medical Assisting

12 students earned certification

✅ Pharmacy Technician

1 student earned certification

✅ EMT/Electrocardiogram (EKG)

1 student earned double certification (EMT & EKG)

These certifications empower our students to enter the workforce with valuable skills and credentials, while also reducing financial barriers for families. 💪

🍽️ Fresno CISD Culinary Arts Program Hosts Rotary Club! 🌟

Fresno CISD’s Culinary Arts students showcased their talent and professionalism by hosting a special luncheon for the local Rotary Club — and it was a delicious success!
Under the guidance of Chef Petros, students planned, prepared, and served a gourmet meal that highlighted the skills they’ve been developing in the district’s Career & Technical Education (CTE) program. From menu design to plating and hospitality, every detail was handled with care and creativity.
The event not only gave students real-world experience in culinary service, but also offered a chance to connect with community leaders and demonstrate the value of CTE programs in preparing students for future careers.
👏 A huge thank you to the Rotary Club for supporting our students, and congratulations to the Culinary team for a job well done!
