đź”’A touch on CA Homeowners Policy Limits & Endorsements.

One of the biggest issues we see isn’t whether a loss is covered—it’s whether the policy limits are actually sufficient and whether endorsements quietly restrict recovery. Many homeowners assume their coverage is adequate, only to find out after a loss that limits fall short or exclusions apply. Taking the time to review a policy during policy renewals can help identify gaps, clarify coverage, and prevent major surprises when it matters most. If you have questions about your policy or would like a second set of eyes, a quick review can help you better understand your options before a loss happens.Free consultation available 310.270.6345

đź’§ Water Damage & California Home Insurance

Water damage can lead to costly repairs and potential health risks if not addressed properly and in a timely manner. Warning signs can include ceiling or wall stains, warped floors, bubbling paint or drywall, musty odors, mold, or sudden increases in your water bill. Common sources include washing machine hoses, water heaters, ice maker lines, shower pan failures, slab leaks, and roof leaks during heavy rain.

Most California policies may cover sudden and accidental water damage, but typically exclude long-term seepage, wear and tear, or maintenance issues. Coverage often depends on how quickly the issue is discovered, documented, and addressed, as well as the specific policy wording. Homeowners should review plumbing components and policy limits every 2–3 years, as many are underinsured without realizing it.

Pro Tip:
If you notice signs of water damage, document it right away and stop the source if it’s safe. If you have questions about coverage or next steps, give us a call before repairs begin to avoid leaving part of your recovery on the table.

Let’s face it—this was an incredibly difficult time for Los Angeles. Wildfires displaced families, destroyed homes, and impacted entire residential communities. Beyond the physical loss, many homeowners are now facing delays tied to paperwork, claim processes, and extended timelines. A key question is whether understaffing within insurance carriers is contributing to these delays. We are seeing more “CAT” adjusters on claims more than ever—adjusters brought in from out of state to assist with the volume of LA fire losses—which suggests carriers may be overwhelmed. With multiple adjuster changes, backlogs, and approvals taking longer than expected, it raises an important conversation: why are claim checks and approvals taking so long, and how can homeowners better navigate this process during recovery?

If you were affected by the LA wildfires and are experiencing delays or uncertainty, it’s important to understand your options and ensure nothing is overlooked in the claim process. Many homeowners don’t realize they may be leaving part of their recovery on the table simply due to documentation, scope, or timing issues.
