One thing I’ve come to enjoy while working in the commercial insurance field is visiting the businesses I’ve helped insure and watching them take off. This week, I had the pleasure of visiting Aaron and Lizzy at Big Frog Custom T-Shirts & More of West LA (Big Frog Custom T-Shirts & More of West Los Angeles) just a couple days after they officially opened their doors for business, and it was incredibly rewarding to finally see everything coming together.

Since this was a new industry for me, I was treated to a detailed demonstration of how the custom apparel business, and Big Frog specifically, operates. I watched as customers brought in their designs, worked with staff to finalize them through Big Frog’s complimentary 15-minute design consultation, choose their shirts by cut and color, choose the printing method, and then watch as their shirts were produced right in front of them. I even received a demo of the printing equipment and learned about the difference between direct-to-garment and direct-to-film printing; before my visit, I had no idea there were multiple ways of printing onto a shirt. You never truly know the nuances of an industry until you spend a few moments behind the counter, so this visit allowed me to experience firsthand much of what the day-to-day looks like in the custom apparel world.

I’m honored that Aaron & Lizzy allowed me to be part of the process from planning to opening day, and I’m excited to watch how their store (Big Frog’s first location in Los Angeles County!) grows. 🇲🇽 Planning a road trip to Mexico in your own car?

A question I often hear is: “Will by American auto insurance policy provide coverage in Mexico?”

While some U.S. auto policies may provide limited physical damage coverage by endorsement, the government of Mexico does not recognize auto insurance policies issued in the U.S. or Canada as valid proof of liability coverage. Whether you are driving to Rosarito for a quick beach day, or going on a weeks-long adventure all the way to Cabo San Lucas, you are required to carry valid liability policy issued by an insurer licensed in Mexico.

As someone who road trips to Baja California a few times a year, I understand firsthand the importance of having appropriate insurance coverage, and a little bit of preparation will make your trip much more enjoyable.
