A view from the tail gunner’s position on a B-52D. 🇺🇸✈️

During Operation Linebacker II, two B-52D tail gunners were credited with shooting down MiG-21s on separate missions. The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force also records that 31 B-52s were lost in Southeast Asia, but none were destroyed by enemy aircraft.

This particular B-52 reportedly flew missions from Andersen AFB during Linebacker II and was later photographed at the former K.I. Sawyer AFB.
