This AANHPI Heritage Month, AADAP proudly honors and celebrates Thai Community Development Center, an organization that continues to empower and uplift Thai and Southeast Asian communities across Los Angeles.

We are so proud to have Thai CDC as part of our AADAP ohana. During a critical transition period, we provided operational assistance to the organization, cultivating a path for Thai CDC to expand its programs and deepen impact. By 1996, Thai CDC established itself independently and continued growing through advocacy, community development, housing, immigrant services, and cultural preservation efforts.

Today, Thai CDC remains a vital leader and advocate for immigrant and underserved communities. We are proud to recognize their lasting impact and shared commitment to empowering AANHPI communities.

This AANHPI Heritage Month, AADAP proudly honors Pacific Asian Consortium in Employment (PACE), an organization dedicated to expanding economic opportunity and empowering AAPI communities across Los Angeles.

Founded in 1975 with support and sponsorship from AADAP and funding through Mayor Tom Bradley’s office, PACE was created to address the growing employment and workforce needs within the AAPI community at a time when few organizations focused on this work.

Initially incorporated under AADAP, PACE became a vital resource for AAPI-owned businesses, workforce development, and Southeast Asian refugees seeking employment and stability following the Vietnam War. In 1976, PACE became an independent organization and has continued to grow its impact ever since.

Today, PACE continues to uplift communities through workforce development, education, housing, and business support services. We are proud to recognize their lasting impact and shared commitment to empowering AANHPI communities.

Our Youth & Family Programs participants brought incredible energy to “Unity Through The Drum” 🥁

Hosted by the incredible Melana Timbera, this special evening celebrated Afro-Cuban music, culture, and connection through rhythm and shared experience. Throughout the program, youth explored traditional Afro-Cuban rhythms and their cultural significance, leading up to a vibrant final performance that filled the room with joy, movement, and powerful community spirit.

We’re so proud of all the participants for their dedication and hard work.

Special thanks to the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, Council District 8 (Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson), and Latin Percussion for supporting this meaningful program and helping make this experience possible through their partnership and drum donations.

This AANHPI Heritage Month, AADAP proudly honors Koreatown Youth and Community Center (KYCC) — an organization with a long-standing history of partnership and shared community impact alongside AADAP.

Founded in 1975 as the Korean Youth Center (KYC), the organization was created to support the growing Korean American community in Koreatown through culturally relevant programs for youth and families, including after-school tutoring, summer enrichment, parent education, outreach, and prevention services.

With the dedication of leaders like Rev. Paul Chun, Jane Kim, Inhwan Kim, Dr. Samuel Rhee, Ron Wakabayashi, and many others, KYC grew into an independent nonprofit organization in 1983 and eventually became KYCC.

Today, Koreatown Youth and Community Center continues to uplift multicultural communities across Los Angeles through advocacy, education, and community care. We are proud to continue standing alongside KYCC in empowering and supporting AAPI communities.
