Due to ongoing developments across the Middle East, LAXPD has increased security measures throughout the airport. This includes additional patrols around LAX, enhanced high‑visibility presence inside the terminals, and random checkpoints at airport entry points. While on patrol, two LAXPD officers responded to the Spirit Airlines ticket counter regarding an unresponsive male. The officers observed symptoms consistent with a possible opioid overdose and administered Narcan. The victim regained consciousness shortly after treatment. LAFD personnel arrived on scene and provided additional medical assistance.

LAXPD officers were on routine patrol when they observed a vehicle occupied by two individuals and emitting a loud exhaust. Officers conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver. During the contact, officers noted that both the driver and passenger appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance. A DUI investigation was initiated, resulting in the driver being arrested for DUI Drugs. The passenger was cited for possession of a controlled substance.

While on patrol, LAXPD officers observed an individual standing motionless in the middle of a busy roadway as vehicles maneuvered around him to avoid a collision. Officers contacted the individual to assess his welfare and investigate the circumstances. During the investigation, officers learned the individual was on active parole for burglary and had an active felony warrant. The suspect was taken into custody for the warrant and transported to the station for booking without incident.

On 02/28/26, an LAXPD officer was on routine patrol when he received a LoJack activation for a stolen 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck. The officer followed the signal, which continued to increase in strength as he traveled toward the City of Hawthorne. The officer located the vehicle on 119th Street in Hawthorne. Additional units responded to assist, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Today, LAXPD Police Officer III Andrea Williams and Mr. William Cordero retired from service. Officer Williams concludes her career with 20.5 years of dedicated service to the department. Mr. Cordero began his career with the City of Los Angeles in 1996 and has been a key member of the LAXPD Training Unit since 2003.

We thank them both for their commitment and contributions, and we wish them the very best in their well‑earned retirement.

Upon conducting a further investigation, officers discovered the suspect was in possession of a stolen e‑bike reported out of LAPD Hollywood Division. The suspect was arrested for a violation of 496 PC (Possession of Stolen Property) and booked at LAPD 77th Division.
