Today, our voices were heard. 

Community Voices Advocacy Day brought together parents, families, children, staff, and partners at the Capitol to advocate for the needs of our communities—standing united, sharing stories, and uplifting the resources our families deserve.

From our morning rally to meaningful conversations with legislators and one another, today showed us what happens when we show up together.

In honor of Child Care Provider Appreciation Day, we celebrated by pouring into the people who pour into our children every day, our providers at Crystal Stairs. 

We welcomed providers for an evening centered on connection, rest, and appreciation, complete with dinner and dessert, Cricut demonstrations, a self-care station, relaxed networking, and goodie bags just for them.

Our executive team and staff had the honor of serving throughout the night, offering delicious food and self-care as a simple but meaningful way to say thank you, we see you, we value you, and we appreciate you.

And at our testimonial booth, providers had the option to share their stories on video—because your journeys matter and your impact deserves to be heard. 

To all of our providers: Thank you for your dedication, your care, and the love you pour into every child and family you serve. Your impact reaches far beyond the classroom, and we are honored to celebrate you, not just today, but every day.

This week, we are excited to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week and to lift up our teachers and educators everywhere.

We honored our teachers across our Head Start sites, with the help of our families, to show them how impactful their work and presence is in the lives of our children.

Teachers are often the first, next to parents and caregivers, to introduce us to the world of learning. They help spark curiosity, build confidence, and create safe spaces where children feel seen, supported, and encouraged to grow. The impact of a great teacher reaches far beyond the classroom and stays with us for a lifetime.

We are incredibly grateful for your commitment to children and families, for your patience and passion, and for the countless ways you shape brighter futures every single day.

THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for Parent Empowerment Day 2026 at El Camino College!

What an incredible day filled with knowledge, connection, and inspiring words to help families reach their personal and professional goals. This year’s theme, “Claiming My Power!”, came to life as parents showed up for themselves ready to learn, reflect, and take powerful next steps on their journeys. Parent Empowerment Day is a meaningful reminder that when parents are supported and empowered, it creates a positive ripple effect for their families and communities.

Throughout the day parents built meaningful connections and participated in workshops that offered real tools for success. With on‑site child care provided, parents were able to focus on themselves, knowing that by investing in their own growth, they are better equipped to support the well‑being of their entire family. The day ended with lunch, 20 agencies sharing valuable resources,  and exciting prizes from our generous community partners and sponsors. Thank you SHI for the iPads!

A huge thank you to our keynote speaker, Claudine Cooper, for sharing her powerful story, wisdom, energy, and for leading a phenomenal self-care workshop that resonated with our families.

We’re deeply grateful to our sponsors - US Bank and GYL - for helping make this impactful day possible. Not only was US Bank a headline sponsor; they were hands on - volunteering their time to greet participants, share resources on Operation Hope, and assist in various workshops such as our Resume Writing and Financial Literacy.

Parent Empowerment Day is almost here, and we’re honored to welcome Claudine Cooper as our keynote speaker! 

Claudine is a well‑known fitness trainer with a powerful passion for equity in the wellness space. She created a program that offers free workouts for the whole family, and as a wife and mother, she loves bringing her own children along, truly leading by example.
