Unique Woman's Coalition (UWC) "Unique Woman's Coalition, founded by Queen Chela Demuir, empowers Black Trans leadership through community care, mentorship, and cultural advocacy."

What started as a weekly support group held at Unity Fellowship Church in Los Angeles every Sunday after church has blossomed into the first Trans led organization in Southern California founded and organized by Black Trans women. The Unique Woman's Coalition (UWC) was founded by community Pioneer Chela Demuir as a direct response for coordinated efforts to increase awareness of issues affecting B

lack Trans community. Established in 1997, (UWC) is the first Los Angeles based supportive organization for and by Transgender people of color. Unique Woman’s Coalition's (UWC) efforts aim to enhance and add to the quality of life by creating safe spaces and platforms to elevate and empower the voices and narratives of Trans people of color.

Just a reminder that The Connie is serving as an official Los Angeles County polling place.

If you live in Los Angeles County, you can cast your ballot right here. This is a safe and welcoming space for everyone to participate in their civic duty, no matter who you’re voting for.

Voting Hours:
• Monday, June 1: 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM
• Tuesday, June 2 (Election Day): 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM

In the video, you probably can’t hear me too well because I was busy jamming to Rob Base. As I mentioned, that song might tell my age and the era I come from, but it was definitely part of the soundtrack of my life.

Please help us spread the word. Share this post with your family, friends, neighbors, and your village. Let people know that this polling place is here for everyone.

June 1 and June 2 are important days. We have to vote like our lives, our communities, and our resources depend on it.

And before I go, I want to give a special shout out because this actually takes a lot of work to provide a polling place. Shout out to FLUX, The Connie Norman Transgender Empowerment Center, Unique Woman’s Coalition, and all of the tenants in the building who help make this possible. It is definitely a collective effort, and we appreciate everyone who plays a role in ensuring our community has a safe and welcoming place to vote.

Sometimes the loudest conversation isn’t the one in the room… it’s the one in your head. This moment may feel funny, a little uncomfortable, and very real all at once, but that’s exactly the point. Too many men are living in conflict after experiencing connection, attraction, and truth.

This is a reminder to our brothers who are Trans-attracted: stand in your truth. You’ve made every decision in your life to become the man you are today. Don’t let fear, shame, or outside opinions silence one of the most honest parts of who you are. Be whole. It’s an US thing.
