Bruin families, mark your calendars! 🏅💙💛 UCLA will host the Olympic and Paralympic Village in 2028, and our campus is already planning for it! The first UCLA 2028 Community Info Session is this Thursday, October 29, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. PT on Zoom. UCLA leaders and the planning team will cover UCLA's role as host of the Village, planning and key milestones, and how the Bruin community can get involved. Your student can get guidance on academics, career paths, interviews, and life after UCLA from someone who has been in their shoes. Hi Bruin Families!🐻 The College of Social Sciences is hosting a Speaking Across Conflict Workshop for Students on Friday, Nov. 6 from 12-3 p.m. The location will be shared after the student RSVP's. This workshop is great for students who are looking to engage in more constructive conversations in regard to charged political differences. Additionally, students who attend can practice speaking about divisive political topics utilizing effective skills. Please note that the workshop is highly interactive, and it is requested that all attendees be present the entire workshop duration. Hello Bruin Families! 💛 Next week, the First Compassionate Conversation will be happening on Wednesday, October 28 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the California NanoSystems Institute of UCLA. The event is open to the public, and all can join for a conversation regarding the political moment anxieties. The event is moderated by Professor Aliza Luft and other speakers include Professor Stuart Soroka, and Professor Jay Van Bavel. UCLA Health is hosting a Party on the Pier event happening Sunday, Oct. 25 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier! 🌊💙 The event includes carnival games, treats, a play zone, UCLA People-Animal Connection therapy dogs, and more! Party on the Pier is a fundraising event that contributes to hospital program resources, research and treatments. You and your Bruin won't want to miss out!
