To the mom watching this while doing three other things. Stop for a second. 78% of moms delay their own healthcare because they are too busy taking care of everyone else. We have called that devotion. It is actually a health crisis. Your body keeps score. Chronic stress. Elevated cortisol. Depleted hormones. Disrupted sleep. You cannot give what you do not have. That is not a quote. That is biology. One thing today. Fifteen minutes. Just for you. Drop a 🙋‍♀️ if you are committing to it. .Stefano.MD

20 g/day creatine for 8 weeks in 20 people with Alzheimer's disease resulted in significant improvements in cognitive abilities in a landmark study in the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Association Journal. This is a big deal. Impaired brain energy metabolism, including dysfunction in the creatine system, is a likely contributor to the development and progression of Alzheimers disease making it a compelling target for treatment. These patients saw an increase in both circulating Creatine and Brain creatine at both 4 and 8 weeks and this corresponded to improvements in cognitive function. We have already been recommending Creatine in our Integrative Health clinic in Brain condition but studies like these go a long way to support it usage. (Not medical advice) It may offer a cost-effective therapeutic strategy for improving brain energy metabolism in AD by targeting the brain Creatine system. In addition supplementation may be paired with other very safe modalities such as transcranial infrared light therapy (as we are doing in our clinics) to achieve even more profound improvements and this is an area where further research is very much needed. With the number of people projected to be suffering from dementia expected to triple by 2050 we need solutions to this devastating illness to advance very quickly Dr S

Ten cases today. High-risk patients. Complex anatomy. Cases others turned down. And I need to say something that might make some people uncomfortable. Stop saying no to patients who need you. I understand. These surgeries are harder. Higher risk. More variables. More demanding across the board. But there is a difference between “Let’s optimize you first” and “I’m not willing to take this on.” One protects the patient. The other abandons them. Because when someone is losing function… when the window to help is closing… doing nothing is not neutral. It is a decision. And here’s what really matters If enough surgeons avoid these cases the skill to treat them disappears You do not build capability by avoiding difficulty You build it by showing up Case after case Year after year I finished case ten an hour ago Already thinking about tomorrow Because patients do not run out of options They run out of people willing to take responsibility If you’ve ever been told no when you needed help I see you .Stefano.MD
