***Felony Hit and Run / Vehicular Homicide suspect apprehended***
On October 7, 2025, at approximately 1:37 am., CHP Central Los Angeles Area was notified of a vehicle versus pedestrian crash reported southbound Interstate 110, south Florence Avenue in which a tow truck operator was located within the right shoulder and had its amber lights activated to warn traffic of the hazard. While the tow truck operator was outside of the tow truck assisting a disabled motorist, he was struck by a vehicle and sustained fatal injuries as result of the crash. The other driver fled the scene.
In September 2026, investigators from the CHP Central Los Angeles Area, developed information as to the whereabouts of the suspect, Brianna Martinez, of San Diego, California. With assistance from the United States Marshals Service Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force, Martinez was arrested on suspicion of 20001(a)(1) V.C. Hit and Run causing great bodily injury and 192(c)(1) P.C. Vehicular Manslaughter
