Every voice matters in shaping the future of Skid Row.
The Midnight Mission remains committed to being part of the conversations that impact our neighbors experiencing homelessness in Downtown Los Angeles.
Our Chief Communications Officer, Georgia Hawley, attended the recent Skid Row Action Plan Quarterly Community Meeting, where community members, service providers, advocates, and residents shared passionate and sometimes differing perspectives on changes to harm reduction services and the Care Campus.
As the Social Service Provider Representative on the Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council, Georgia understands the importance of showing up, listening, and ensuring that the voices of those most affected are heard.
These conversations go beyond policies and programs. They affect real people, their health, safety, recovery, livelihoods, and opportunities for stability.
At The Midnight Mission, we believe meaningful progress begins with listening, understanding different perspectives, and working together toward solutions that prioritize dignity, compassion, and the well-being of our Skid Row community.
We may not always agree on the path forward, but we can agree that every person deserves to be heard.
Because behind every policy decision is a person, a name, and a story that matters.
