We’d also like to thank our local Mercedes-Benz of Los Angeles for their great customer service when we picked up this vehicle. Recently, the young people stepped out of their comfort zones and onto the wall for an afternoon of rock climbing.

Experiences like this are more than just outings. They’re about trying something new, building confidence, enjoying moments of play, and fostering a sense of belonging.

Despite the Santa Ana winds on Saturday and the heat on Sunday, our community showed up for LA Marathon Weekend and did an incredible job! Between the 5K, half marathon, and full marathon, Team MFP included 37 runners who have raised $27,200 to date! Not only did Team MFP runners raise critical funds to support young people impacted by homelessness, but they also increased awareness by engaging their communities before LA Marathon Weekend. We are grateful for our community that continues to show up for the young people.

Play is healing, and a safe place to learn something new is important 🛹

We were thrilled to partner with Vans and pro skateboarder Isaiah Johnson for our 5th annual Black History Month Skate Day! Young people spent the afternoon at Vans Off the Wall Skatepark, picking up new skateboards, swag, and most importantly, just having fun in community ❤️

Thanks to the love, dedication and investment of our founders, board of directors, staff, volunteers and community of support, My Friend's Place has become the dynamic resource center that young people impacted by homelessness can count on today.
