Florence Library Florence Library is in the heart of South Los Angeles, providing library services to the community. The service area extends over 3,000 square miles.

The County of Los Angeles Public Library was established in 1912 under authority of the County Free Library Act. The Library is a special fund department operating under the authority of the County Board of Supervisors. Today it is one of the major libraries of our nation, and provides library service to over 3.5 million residents living in unincorporated areas and to residents of 51 of the 88 inc

orporated cities of Los Angeles County. Supplementing the 7.5 million volume book collection, the Library also offers magazines, newspapers, government publications and many specialized materials including online databases. Tam Tran, a quiet UCLA senior who prefers life behind her camera, faces her biggest challenge yet. As an undocumented student, she unexpectedly becomes an activist alongside her outgoing best friend, Cinthya Felix. When Congress invites Tam to testify for the DREAM Act in Washington, DC, her world turns upside down.

Do you know a Spanish-speaking adult who wants to learn basic reading or writing in Spanish? Students will learn the sounds of the alphabet, read and write simple words, and learn writing skills in Spanish. For adults.
