Please join us for the opening of 𝑺𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒑 π‘π’π’‚π’Žπ’†π’” by Cameron Cameron and Beth Fiedorek on Saturday 11/19 7-10pm

Thorns and ants crawl across the surfaces of Cameron’s lamps, sconces, and candelabras, mimicking the trail of sugar ants that create a line through her bedroom every summer. Fiedorek’s paintings take two approaches: the first uses simple forms as an excuse for painting, while the second relates candles to figures; concurrently, her stone carvings stem from her interest in smoothness and language. The exhibition will have both 2D and 3D work by each artist, with the goal of creating a space for the viewer that is both familiar and haunting, safe yet destabilizing.

Monte Vista Projects will be open tonight at 7PM of β€œMotion Picture,” a solo presentation by Guadalajara based artist Daniel RomΓ‘n . The works presented in this exhibition translate an experience into a visual morse code and act as a lure into a philosophical argument or narrative.

Nostalgia, represented by the aesthetics of the 1970s and early 20th century, reoccur in RomΓ‘n’s production process. The works are influenced from the experimental processes and graphics that are sometimes juxtaposed, transiting between painting, printmaking and illustration.

OUR MISSION

Monte Vista Projects is a Los Angeles based artist-run collective established in 2007. Through exhibitions, lectures, events, and performances, MVP serves as a place to share ideas and cultivate exhibitions that question existing artistic frameworks. Monte Vista Projects collaborates with local, national, and international artist-run spaces. We prioritize working with under-represented artists to broaden access to artistic discourse.
