A Win for Student Financial Aid! π
On April 14, AB 2251 passed the Assembly Higher Education Committee with unanimous support. This bill would require colleges to be more transparent about how they calculate Cost of Attendance budgets and clearly communicate when students can request adjustments based on their actual expenses.
For foster youth and students navigating college without a traditional safety net, this transparency can make a meaningful difference in accessing the full financial aid they are eligible for.
United Friends of the Children proudly submitted a letter in support of AB 2251, and we are excited to see this important bill move forward. π
