CIR SoCal CIR resident members from the Southern California region. Residents at UCI have established a housestaff union and have sought recognition from UCI.

Most departments at UCI have chosen
representatives in order to ensure that residents throughout the hospital have a voice when union decisions are made. In the near future, a bargaining team comprised of housestaff will be negotiating our future salaries, benefits, and working conditions with UCI administration. We plan to work hand in hand with the administration in a collaborative effort to ach

ieve the overall goals listed above. It is in both our and UCI’s interests to improve the education and professional environment with the combined benefits of improving patient care, hospital acclaim and revenue, and overall resident satisfaction and quality of life. We are working with the Committee of Interns and Residents while we develop our organization to be the strongest advocate for housestaff that it can be. CIR brings over 50 years of experience in representing housestaff.
