เมื่อวันที่ 8 พฤษภาคม 2569 สถานกงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครลอสแอนเจลิส ได้จัดกิจกรรม Thailand Business Forum ภายใต้หัวข้อ “Thailand: Navigating the Path Forward” ที่ World Trade Center (WTC) เมืองซอลต์เลกซิตี รัฐยูทาห์โดยมีนักธุรกิจในพื้นที่เข้าร่วมกว่า 40 คน ทั้งนี้ กิจกรรมดังกล่าวเป็นกิจกรรมต่อเนื่องจากสัมมนา Crossroads of the Worldที่ WTC จัดขึ้นระหว่าง 6-7 พฤษภาคม 2569 ซึ่งเป็นสัมมนาเรื่องภาวะเศรษฐกิจโลก และเป็นการรวมตัวของนักธุรกิจชั้นนำและผู้แทนภาครัฐระดับสูง อนึ่ง สัมมนาดังกล่าวจัดขึ้นเป็นประจำทุกปี ตั้งแต่ปี 2549
นาย Jonathan Freedman ประธาน World Trade Center และนาง Anna Maidon ผู้แทนของสำนักงานผู้ว่าราชการรัฐยูทาห์ ได้ร่วมกล่าวเปิดกิจกรรม Thailand Business Forum โดยกล่าวถึงความร่วมมือที่ดีระหว่างสหรัฐฯ กับประเทศไทย ความสัมพันธ์ทางเศรษฐกิจระหว่างประเทศไทยกับรัฐยูทาห์ และโอกาสทางการค้าและการลงทุนในยูทาห์ซึ่งประเทศไทยเป็นตลาดสำคัญอันดับที่ 7 ของรัฐยูทาห์
ต่อมา นายต่อ ศรลัมพ์ กงสุลใหญ่ฯ ได้บรรยายภาพรวมสภาวะเศรษฐกิจไทยในปี 2568 และแนวโน้มของเศรษฐกิจไทยในปี 2569 ซึ่งในปี 2569 มีปัจจัยเสี่ยงต่อการเติบโตของเศรษฐกิจ อาทิ สงครามในตะวันออกกลาง และนโยบายภาษีนำเข้าของสหรัฐฯ ที่ยังมีความไม่แน่นอน ทั้งนี้ ในปี 2569 เศรษฐกิจไทยยังมีปัจจัยสนับสนุนที่สำคัญ เช่น การเติบโตของภาคส่งออก การฟื้นฟูการท่องเที่ยวไทย การลงทุนจากจต่างประเทศ และอุปสงค์ในประเทศ เป็นต้น พร้อมทั้งมีนโยบายรัฐบาลที่เสริมสร้างชุมชนที่เข้มแข็ง และพัฒนาขีดความสามารถด้านการแข่งขันของไทย นอกจากนี้ กงสุลใหญ่ฯ ได้ให้ข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับอุตสาหกรรมเป้าหมายของไทย อาทิ อิเล็กทรอนิกส์และเซมิคอนดักเตอร์ เศรษฐกิจดิจิทัล อาหารแปรรูป เกษตรกรรม การแพทย์ และรถไฟฟ้า ซึ่งเป็นโอกาสในการเพิ่มพูนความสัมพันธ์ทางเศรษฐกิจระหว่างไทยกับสหรัฐฯ จากนั้น นางสาวนวรัตน์ วงศ์เบญจรัตน์ ผู้อำนวยการสำนักงานเศรษฐกิจการลงทุนในต่างประเทศ สำนักงานนครลอสแอนเจลิส ได้บรรยายเกี่ยวกับภารกิจของสำนักงานฯ การให้สิทธิประโยชน์ด้านการลงทุนแก่นักลงทุนต่างชาติ และแนวทางส่งเสริมการลงทุนของไทย นอกจากนี้ นาย David Rockwood ผู้ร่วมก่อตั้งบริษัท Spiro Carbon ได้แบ่งปันประสบการณ์ การดำเนินธุรกิจในประเทศไทย รวมทั้งการส่งเสริมแนวทางการทำเกษตรเพื่อทำให้ได้คาร์บอนเครดิตด้วย
On May 8, 2026, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Los Angeles organized the "Thailand Business Forum" under the theme "Thailand: Navigating the Path Forward," at the World Trade Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. There were over 40 local business professionals in attendance, and the event was held after the "Crossroads of the World" seminar, that was hosted by the World Trade Center from May 6–7, 2026. The seminar has been held annually since 2006 and focuses on the global economic outlook, with several leading businesses and government representatives in attendance.
Mr. Jonathan Freedman, President and CEO of the World Trade Center, and Ms. Anna Maidon, representative from the State of Utah Governor’s Office, delivered the opening remarks for the Thailand Business Forum. They highlighted the strong cooperation between the United States and Thailand, economic ties between Thailand and the state of Utah, and shared information about the potential for trade and investment opportunities in Utah. Currently, Thailand ranks as Utah’s 7th largest market.
Moreover, Mr. Tor Saralamba, Consul-General, provided an overview of Thailand’s economic performance in 2025 and the economic outlook for 2026. He outlined several risk factors potentially impacting Thailand’s economic growth in 2026, such as the conflict in the Middle East and the continuing uncertainty surrounding U.S. import tariff policies. Nevertheless, the Thai economy has key supporting factors such as the expansion of the export sector, rebound of the tourism sector, increased foreign direct investment, and increased government spending. Furthermore, the Consul-General provided details regarding Thailand’s target industries for enhanced cooperation and to promote growth which include the advanced electronics and semiconductor sector, digital economy, high value foods and agro-processing, medical services, and electric vehicles.
Ms. Navarat Vongbenjarat, Director of the Thai Board of Investment (BOI), Los Angeles, also delivered a presentation outlining the role of BOI, as well as information related to investment incentives for foreign investors. Furthermore, Mr. David Rockwood, Co-founder of Spiro Carbon, shared his experiences operating a business in Thailand, including his efforts to promote low-emission agricultural practices aimed at generating carbon credits.
