This Pride Month, we celebrate the resilience, strength, and brilliance of the LGBTQ+ community, especially those who are healing, reentering society, or starting fresh. At A New Way Of Life, we believe everyone deserves dignity, opportunity, safety, and the freedom to be themselves. This month, we honor the voices, stories, and leadership of LGBTQ+ people who have experienced incarceration.

Your support makes our work possible. Donate today to invest in second chances, healing, and a future where everyone can thrive. This Pride Month, please help us continue providing housing, advocacy, reentry support, and essential resources to formerly incarcerated LGBTQ+ individuals as they rebuild their lives.

The Fair Chance Improvement Act protects job seekers by requiring employers to justify why they won't hire someone with a record. It gives applicants the right to see why they were disqualified and a fair chance to defend their background with evidence of personal growth. Urge your lawmakers to support AB 2095! Our voice are louder together!

Our Deputy Director, Pamela Marshall and our Global SAFE Housing Network Manager, Cheryl Ward joined hundreds of mothers and families for the Mothers Movement March in Sacramento! Join us in advocating for policies that keep families together and create pathways to freedom and stability for all.

Now is the time to invest in housing, healing, and opportunity, not systems that separate families.

Our Advocacy Department and a few of our residents had the privilege of attending Quest 4 Democracy in Sacramento. A New Way Of Life gathered with over 500 formerly incarcerated individuals, family members, allies, and other community organizations to advocate for legislative measures that restore rights and dismantle barriers for those impacted by the criminal justice system.

On Monday, A New Way of Life joined hundreds of mothers and families for the Mothers Movement March, a rally demanding reforms to California's child welfare system and advocating for policies that keep families together.

Our family reunification team continues to support previously incarcerated parents rebuild their relationships with their children through pro bono direct client representation. We ware committed to reuniting families and believe that replacing mandated reporting with mandated support would provide families with the resources, stability, and care they need to stay together and succeed. Now is the time to invest in families, not systems that separate them.
