The Consulate General of the Philippines in Los Angeles was established in 1947. For a brief history of the Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles, please visit www.losangelespcg.org. It serves the consular needs of the largest Filipino community outside the Philippines numbering more than one (1) million. Generally, by law, regulation and treaty, the Consulate serves as an adjunct of the Philippine Government in the overall task of promoting and protecting the national interests of the Philippines and its citizens in the areas/localities under the Consulate’s jurisdiction. Specifically, the Consulate General has the following functions:

- To report on commercial, financial and other economic developments in its jurisdiction;
- To administer in appropriate cases the implementation of Philippine laws and regulations abroad concerning citizenship, immigration, trade, navigation and commerce;
- To perform passport and visa services;
- To assist and protect Filipino nationals, including seamen and other migrant workers;
- To perform registration services including those for births and deaths, solemnize marriages, and conserve estates of deceased nationals;
- To perform notarial and, in proper cases, other legal services;
- To examine and certify invoices and documents covering exports to the Philippines;
- To perform, in appropriate cases, the functions of a diplomatic mission (Embassy).

4 SEPTEMBER 2026 – The Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles, led by Consul General Adelio Angelito S. Cruz, attended the unveiling of Lea Salonga’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Hollywood, California.

Salonga received the 2,855th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the category of Live Performance, becoming the first Filipina to receive the honor. From her Tony Award-winning performance in Miss Saigon and landmark roles on Broadway to becoming the singing voice of Mulan and Aladdin’s Princess Jasmine, Salonga has inspired generations through her extraordinary talent and trailblazing career.

Salonga will also receive the inaugural Icon Award at the third Manila International Film Festival (MIFF) Awards Gala on 6 September 2026 at The Beverly Hilton. MIFF nominated Salonga for consideration for the Hollywood Walk of Fame honor.

🇵🇭 Philippine Cinema Is Taking Over Hollywood This Week! 📽️

The 2026 Manila International Film Festival (MIFF) is happening 3-6 September 2026, bringing Filipino stories and talent to the heart of Hollywood.

Now in its third year, MIFF brings together filmmakers, artists, industry professionals, and audiences to celebrate the growing presence of Philippine cinema on the international stage.

The Philippine Department of Tourism (PDOT) - Los Angeles is also joining the festival with an on-site activation. Festivalgoers are invited to stop by the PDOT booth and take part in the “Forgotten Island” tour promotion for a chance to win a trip to the Philippines.

The Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles officially launched the 2027 Very Important Pinoy (VIP) Tour: Winter Escapade Edition on 25 August 2026 at the Consulate General's Community Hall.

The launch brought together Filipino and Filipino-American community leaders, travel industry partners, and prospective participants for a preview of the destinations and experiences lined up for the special 2027 edition of the VIP Tour, which will take place from 07 to 17 February 2027.

The Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles encourages the Filipino-American community to come out and show support for Tony Award-winning Filipina artist Lea Salonga as she receives her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on 4 September 2026!

​Lea will receive the 2,855th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (Live Performance category), making history as the first Filipina to receive this iconic recognition.

The ceremony is FREE and open to the public. No tickets or admission fees are required. A public viewing area will be available for attendees.
