I have conducted several hundred Criminal, Pre-Employment, and Background Investigations. I have been employed with the State of California Department of Youth Authority and the Department of Motor Vehicles. Both positions were sworn peace officer positions. My total tenure for California state service was a total of twelve (12) years. Approximately five years with the Department of Motor Vehicles
in the capacity of a Senior Special Investigator. While working in this capacity, I conducted many criminal investigations. My duty assignment included conducting Administrative, Criminal and Pre-employment screenings on perspective peace officers for hire. In addition, I conducted Background Investigations on many non peace officer positions. I have held several State of California bid contracts as a Contracted Investigator with the Department of Mental Health, Department of Chiropractic Examinations. Both of these contracts required the background investigations of prospective peace officers for these departments. In the capacity of Investigator for the State of California, my responsibilities included observance of rules, laws and regulations pertaining to investigations of peace officers or perspective peace officers. Compliance was maintained with California P.O.S.T. I am efficient with the utilization of standard P.O.S.T. material, information gathering and the final report-writing format for Background Investigations. I have completed several courses conducted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department for Background Investigations. I have also conducted Contracted Confidential Background Investigations for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department for over five (5) years. I am confident with my years of service with the State of California, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and the knowledge and experience that I have gained as an Investigator and peace officer has prepared me for this!
