Join GJLA for our Nov MMM!

The presentation is designed to uplift and empower system-impacted and formerly incarcerated siblings through an LGBTQIA+ lens. Specifically, we are able to serve U.S. citizens with LA County convictions who are not currently on parole or probation.

Along with legal insights, we also share personal stories and provide a brief introduction to our new services, including systems navigation and mental health navigation. Alex brings extensive expertise to answer legal questions about expungements, and while we cannot directly support out-of-state cases, certificates of rehabilitation, or undocumented status, we can connect community members to trusted resources.

About Know Your Rights:

Facilitated by staff attorney Alex Tron, the Social Impact Center’s Know Your Rights Program educates and empowers individuals on the expungement process and intake procedures. The program provides comprehensive information on SB 731 and current legislation to help participants navigate their pathway to expungement. Students and community members can also engage in a Q&A session to address individual or group questions, making this program especially valuable for people with criminal records and the organizations that support them.

About Live Scan:
Live Scan is the fingerprinting process used to obtain a Records of Arrest and Prosecution (RAP) sheet, a required document for The Social Impact Center’s expungement process.

If you are joining us virtually for the first time, join us at 5:30pm to receive a mandatory orientation. Due to online safety protocols, we will not be letting new individuals into the virtual space without vetting through virtual orientation or in person.
