Let’s talk about…🗣

…✨taking care of ourselves✨

Last, we talk about therapy. Now, let’s talk about self-care! During stressful times (aka FINALS 📚), it is especially important to take care of ourselves. Let’s learn some stats and some tips on how to do that!

In Spring 2018, USC reported that:
- 24% of USC students had moderate to severe anxiety
- 28% of USC students had moderate to severe depression
- 9% of USC students had contemplated su***de

What can we do to take care of ourselves? Here are some self-care tips we’d like to share. *To learn more about therapy & working with a professional, check out our previous post.*

Practice a physical activity. Check out chair yoga or visit a USC fitness center to get active! 🧘🏿‍♂️🏃🏼‍♀️🏋🏽‍♀️

Foster healthy relationships and know who is in your support system. Check out RSVP’s Healthy Relationships workshop to learn more how to build these relationships.💕💬

Make a vision board to center your thoughts, goals, and dreams. You can use Canva or Pinterest to help you out. 💭🎯

The USC Relationship & Sexual Violence Prevention and Services Department is asking LGBTQ+ identifying students, questioning students, and students who have had same-sex romantic and/or sexual experiences to answer a climate survey on sexual assault and sexual misconduct. The survey results will be used to guide policies, prevention education, and survivor support services to encourage a healthy, safe and nondiscriminatory environment at USC.

TRIGGER WARNING: This survey asks about your personal experience with sexual misconduct, such as harassment, sexual assault, and other forms of violence. Some of the language used in this survey is explicit and some people may find it uncomfortable, but it is important that we ask the questions in this way so that you are clear about what we mean.

To thank you for your participation, RSVP will randomly select 5 students who complete the survey for a $20 gift card.

All are welcome to share their art through USC student performers will be prioritized.

Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention and Services is located in Engemann, Suite 356. Students are welcome to come by and see our space. Please call (213) 740-4900 for assistance.

Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention and Services provides immediate therapy services for situations related to gender and power-based harm (e.g., sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking). In case of an emergency or if you need immediate assistance, please call (213) 740-4900 (after hours, press zero “0” to speak to an on-call counselor). Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention and Services on-call counselors aid in discussing medical options, reporting options and provide crisis support and advocacy.
