Through Peru Village LA, the Peruvian Community in Los Angeles proposes to designate the first Peruvian geographic area in our Hollywood neighborhood in Los Angeles to b
e named “Peru Village” for Peruvian-Americans and all cultures for future generations to come. The naming of a geographic space in a city is one of the fundamental ways to express cultural values of a community. The inclusion of the Peruvian Community of Southern California, both culturally and geographically is a win-win proposition for this cosmopolitan City of Los Angeles. The contributions of the Peruvian Community to the economy include expertise and talents across different sectors. These assets include gastronomy, sports, the arts and sciences, cinematography, medicine and a multitude of small businesses. Aside from economic endeavors and enterprises, the Peruvian Community contributes in cross-cultural expressions that have become a part of the traditions of the City of Los Angeles. Peru Village will quickly become a magnet for tourism and can contribute towards the revitalization of the section of Vine Street, between Melrose Avenue and De Longpre Ave., as well as the surrounding communities and the US economy. Obtaining the Peru Village denomination will be an important step for this community and an opportunity to promote Peruvian culture, cross-culturalism in this ever-growing kaleidoscope in the City of Los Angeles, and to bring new investments and possibilities to the proposed area. The Peruvian community in Los Angeles is a growing group with members from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds and all walks of life. Peru Village LA continues its efforts to promote culture, a sense of community and growth for all our neighbors. has been performing annual cultural events like "Peru Village Festival - A taste of Peru" since 2016 to the present time, which gathers around 5000 people on each edition and was also designated a "Cultural Treasure of L.A." Othe annual event is "Peruvian Icons Forever" since 2013 to the present time- which began with "Yma Sumac Forever." PVLA also perfoms regular cleanups at the proposed area. Peru Village LA is part of Latino Economic Empowerment Round Table LEER, is partner with Promise Zone and collaborates with many other organizations and ethnic communities which have the common goal to help the city of Los Angeles to reach its full potential. Peru Village L.A. is working in an Alley Beautification Project at Vine street, which has a pocket of 7 alleys. We are working into painting murals, cleaning up and transforming them in vibrant city areas for the community cultural, education, sport, entertainment and commerce enrichment. A través de Perú Village LA, la comunidad peruana en Los Angeles se propone designar a la primera área geográfica peruana llamada "Perú Village" en nuestro barrio de Hollywood en la ciudad de Los Angeles para los peruano-americanos y todas las culturas para las futuras generaciones por venir. La denominación de un espacio geográfico de una ciudad es una de las formas fundamentales para expresar los valores culturales de una comunidad. La inclusión de la comunidad peruana, cultural y geográficamente es una propuesta ganadora para esta ciudad cosmopolita de Los Angeles. Las contribuciones de la comunidad peruano-americana a la economía Angelina incluyen conocimientos y talentos en diferentes sectores. Estos activos incluyen gastronomía, Deportes, Ciencias, las artes, cinematografía, medicina y una multitud de pequeñas empresas. Aparte de los esfuerzos económicos y las empresas, la comunidad peruano-americana contribuye en expresiones culturales que se han convertido en una parte de las tradiciones de la ciudad de Los Ángeles. Peru Village se convertirá rápidamente en un imán para el turismo y contribuirá a la revitalización de la sección de Vine St, entre Melrose Ave. y De Longpre Ave., así como las comunidades circundantes y la economía de Estados Unidos. La obtención de la denominación del Perú Village será un paso importante para esta comunidad y una oportunidad para promover la cultura peruana, la interculturalidad en este caleidoscopio creciente en la ciudad de Los Ángeles y traer nuevas inversiones y posibilidades para el área propuesta. La comunidad peruana en Los Angeles es un grupo cada vez mayor con miembros de diversos orígenes étnicos y culturales y de todo tipo. Perú Village continúa sus esfuerzos por promover la cultura, un sentido de comunidad y crecimiento para todos nuestros vecinos. ha estado realizando eventos culturales anuales como "Peru Village Festival - A taste of Peru" desde 2016 hasta la actualidad, que reúne alrededor de 5000 personas en cada edición y también fue designado como "Tesoro Cultural de L.A." por Promise Zone Arts en 2019. Otro evento anual es "Iconos peruanos para siempre" desde 2013 hasta la actualidad, que comenzó con "Yma Sumac Forever". PVLA también realiza limpiezas regulares en el área propuesta. Peru Village LA es parte de la Mesa Redonda de Empoderamiento Económico Latino LEER, es socio de Promise Zone y colabora con muchas otras organizaciones y comunidades étnicas que tienen el objetivo común de ayudar a la ciudad de Los Ángeles a alcanzar su máximo potencial. esta trabajando en un proyecto de revitalizacion de 7 callejones en la calle Vine, a traves de limpieza, murales, y embellecimiento, convirtiendolos en areas vibrantes de la ciudad en donde pueda florecer la cultura, el entretenimiento, educacion, deporte y comercio,
