The real call of a bald eagle 🦅 the single screech that you hear in movies, most commonly associated with the bald eagle, is actually the call of the red-tailed hawk.

BALD EAGLE YAWN AT 1600MM 🦅

I wanted to share a different kind of eagle reel today. Instead of my usual slow-motion clips of the nictitating membrane, I decided to mix it up. While going through footage, I found this clip from a few weeks ago—an eagle yawning while looking right at me with its eyes open the whole time.

It’s a fascinating moment because you get a clear look inside its mouth, something you don’t see every day. Nature is always full of little surprises like this, and I love getting to share them.

THE STRUGGLE FOR SURVIVAL - survival is a fundamental aspect of nature.
Predation and being preyed upon are crucial for maintaining the balance of ecosystems.

This cycle of eating and being eaten ensures that populations are controlled and resources are distributed efficiently.
It promotes natural selection, allowing the strongest and most adaptable species to thrive.

This process is not just a harsh reality but a necessary one, ensuring that the natural world remains in harmony and continues to function effectively. 🦅

BALD EAGLE TRANSITION 🦅

I’ve filmed bald eagles up close many, many times but this time I wanted to try something different: transitioning between two shots while the eagle was scratching itself. It might sound simple, but the shots were filmed weeks apart, which made matching them nearly impossible. Every tiny detail had to line up for the transition to feel seamless.

It ended up taking me about four hours to get it as close as I could. The transition isn’t perfect, but it’s the closest I’ve ever come to pulling something like this off. Normally I spend one to two hours on a reel, but this one pushed me mentally and creatively. I didn’t mind staying up all night for it though. These edits are always a challenge, but they’re also how I grow as a filmmaker and editor.

Hope you enjoyed it, and hopefully the time and effort I put into these reels comes through.
