This is one of many reasons L.A. City Attorney Hydee Feldstein Soto got what she deserved. Getting blown out in Tuesday’s election, becoming first incumbent ousted in primary in nearly 100 years.
She also was accused of failing to defend the rights of tenants at the high-rise apartment complex Barrington Plaza, who went to court to successfully fight wrongful evictions from landlord company Douglas Emmett, which donated to a campaign opposing Feldstein Soto’s opponent in the 2022 election.
Hydee Feldstein Soto hasn’t explained why she has delayed rent relief and eviction defense funding approved by the City Council and the mayor.
