For Foster Care Month, we asked some of our extraordinary ambassadors to reflect back on their time as resource parents:

"I remember looking forward to our visits with the Extraordinary Families team. We couldn’t wait to share all the new things our kiddo was doing. It felt more like catching up with a friend than a home visit." - Johnny

Johnny and his partner Larry met little Devin in 2022 when he was only 3 weeks old. Two years later, they had the opportunity to become a forever family through adoption.

We are so grateful for supporters like Larry and Johnny who continuously provide support for our prospective parents who are new to foster care. Thank you for all that you do!

May is National Foster Care Month. 💛
Join us in raising awareness for the many children in foster care who are waiting for one caring adult to step forward and provide love and security.

Kira took that leap of faith—and through foster care, she met her amazing daughter, Zoe. In 2021, they became a forever family.

“Foster care means expanding the prosaic meaning of the term ‘family.’ It means opening your heart and home to the expansion of love and the possibility of forever. It brought me the daughter I was waiting to meet since I first conceived of being a mother. It is an adventure into the unknown and into the certitude of love.”

This month, you can be the reason a child’s story changes. Take the first step.

4 in 10 foster youth face homelessness within 4 years of aging out. But it doesn't have to be this way. Mentorship, housing support, and community connection change outcomes. Our program, Unlimited Possibilities 4 Youth, pours into young adults who have aged out of the foster care system. Donate or consider contributing as a mentor to help strengthen our program and the youth we serve. 💙

Resource parents wear many hats. From advocating at meetings to helping with homework and showing up on the toughest days, their impact goes far beyond what people often see.

We’re so grateful for our resource families who give their time, patience, and hearts to support children and youth. 💛

Sebastien and Vincent opened their hearts to foster care with one hope: to give a child a safe, loving, and stable home. When Billy entered their lives, everything clicked into place. His resilience, laughter, and growing confidence remind them every day why this journey matters.

Last month, Billy became a part of their forever family through adoption.

Foster care transformed their lives—expanding their hearts and redefining what family means. Watching Billy thrive has been their greatest joy, and their story is a beautiful reminder that family is built through commitment, trust, and unconditional love. 💙

We hope that Billy's story inspires you to take that next step and consider becoming a resource family. Our next virtual orientation is March 5th at 6:30pm. Click the link below to sign up :)
