πŸ’š World Su***de Prevention Day | September 10

Sometimes, hope begins with knowing someone cares.

At Good Shepherd Center for Homeless Women & Children, we see every day how important it is to have a safe place, a caring community, and someone willing to listen. Life can feel overwhelming, especially during times of loss, uncertainty, or hardship, but no one should have to face those moments alone.

Today, take a moment to check in on someone you care about. Listen without judgment. Reach out. Remind them that they matter.

And if you’re struggling, please know that help is available.

πŸ“ž Call or text 988 to connect with the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline; free, confidential support available 24/7.

πŸ’š You matter. You are not alone. Hope is possible.

πŸ’œ Learning never stops when it comes to supporting our community.

A big congratulations to our team members, Monica and Oliver, for completing the 40-Hour Domestic Violence Training through Haven Hills!

This intensive training gave them valuable tools to better support survivors of domestic violence with a trauma-informed, survivor-centered approach. They learned how to recognize signs of abuse in both adults and children, create safety plans, respond with compassion, protect confidentiality, and connect survivors with life-changing resources.

Every training like this helps us strengthen the support we provide to the women and families who turn to Good Shepherd Center during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

We're so proud of Monica and Oliver for investing in their growth, and in the well-being of our community. πŸ’œ

Please join us in congratulating them on this incredible accomplishment!

β˜€οΈπŸ’§ Help Us Keep Our Outreach Neighbors Hydrated During This Heat πŸ’™

With extreme heat affecting our community and heat warnings in effect, access to water is more important than ever.

Through our Outreach Program, Sr. Rosaline brings care, compassion, and a hot meal directly to our unhoused neighbors. During each outreach visit, we strive to provide not only nourishment, but also connection, dignity, and essential supplies to help our neighbors through challenging conditions.

We are currently in need of bottled water and beverages to distribute during outreach efforts.

Your support can help provide a simple but essential resource during these hot days.

πŸ’™ Motivation Monday πŸ’™

Every new beginning starts with opportunity.

At Good Shepherd Center, we believe that something as simple as access to a computer can open the door to a new job, a new home, an education, or a brighter future.

Our newly reopened Computer Lab is more than just a room with computers; it's a space where goals are set, resumes are written, homework is completed, and hope is renewed. With six new computer stations, community resource boards, and a welcoming lounge area, we're creating an environment where women and families can take meaningful steps toward stability and independence.

Every investment in our campus is an investment in the futures of the women and children we serve.

This Monday, we're reminded that progress begins one step at a time, and together, we're helping families build brighter futures.

πŸ’™ Thank you to everyone who makes this work possible.
