We had the incredible opportunity to work with Animal Control Officer E. Hyder in Los Angeles County for a few years. He was a great human being, and a joy working with him in our Department.

He made the ultimate sacrifice in doing his duty and took his expertise and talent, and moved to the state of Florida to pursue his career.

Unfortunately, we received the tragic news this weekend that he was no longer with us due to a sad event. We give our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. We want to offer our condolences to the family of the fallen officer. As a fellow officer, I know he loved the job, as we all do. He may be gone, but he is never forgotten.

The Animal Rescue Squad heroe was called for an injured raptor.

Once on scene Officer Taylor discovered it was an Australian Wedge Tail Eagle 🦅 that was struck by a vehicle.

Officer Taylor transported the eagle for medical attention and is now recovering!

The Animal Rescue Squad from
SMART Members David Rivera, Jose Navarro, and SMART Team Lead Navarro were called for a cat named Vivus that needed to go to the vet but it was stuck under a building.

They squad used different methods and were finally able to get Vivus out so the owner could take him to the vet. Vivus is now recovering!

The City of Roseville Police Dept. is hiring for an Animal Control Officer. With an excellent pay of $78,000 yearly

They work 4/10s, set schedule, no on-call, and competitive pay. They are solely field officers and contract sheltering services with the Placer SPCA. Their union is a professional staff/non-sworn employees within the Police Dept. They have their own Roseville Police Association, rather than an outside union.

"Hold my phone. I'm from California": Video shows a woman pick up a scared opossum that had found its way into a bar in Brooklyn.

The lady bravely grabbed the opossum by the scruff of its neck and carried it outside as customers cheered her on.
