I had a great afternoon at the Culver City Senior Center, where I discussed property tax relief, homeowner exemptions and services available through the Assessor’s Office. I am grateful to the Center’s staff and to the senior community who showed up to learn how to protect their financial security for themselves and their families.

It was a packed house at the Carson Event Center! Nearly 200 Carson residents stopped by to learn about how the property tax system works, what savings were available, and hear advice on how to manage family inheritance in the State of California. Thank you Mayor Lula Davis-Holmes and Mayor Pro Tem Cedric Hicks for hosting and promoting this resource for the community.

I had the privilege of administering the Oath of Office to Mayor Henry Lo and witnessing the installation of Mayor Pro Tem Jose Sanchez during the City of Monterey Park's reorganization ceremony.

Congratulations to Mayor Lo and Mayor Pro Tem Sanchez as they begin their new leadership roles. I also want to extend my sincere appreciation and congratulations to outgoing Mayor Elizabeth Yang for her exceptional service. Her leadership over the past nine and a half months has been exemplary, and the City of Monterey Park has greatly benefited from her dedication and commitment to the community.

Thank you to the Los Angeles County Professional Peace Officers Assoc. - PPOA for the opportunity to sit down and discuss my role serving as Los Angeles County Assessor.

Property assessments and the Assessment Roll don't always make headlines, but they are among the most important functions of county government. Every year, our office produces the Annual Assessment Roll. Those Roll serve as the foundation for the property tax system that funds the essential services our communities rely on every day, including public safety, schools, healthcare, parks, libraries, and local government.

In the coming weeks, I'll be releasing the 2026 Assessment Roll, providing an updated look at assessed property values in every city and unincorporated community throughout Los Angeles County. I look forward to sharing what this year's Roll tells us about the state of our local economy and the communities we serve.
