Breathe Southern California has a long history of public health engagement aligned with its 100 year-old mission to improve air quality and lung health through education, research and advocacy. Formed in 1903 to address the epidemic of tuberculosis and other lung-related diseases, the organization’s education and outreach efforts have resulted in significant reductions in incidences of TB and more stringent smoking laws.

Thank you to all the community partners and residents that supported and attended our Breathe Of Life Resource Fair in Torrance on August 22nd.

Breathe SoCal is hosting our first Sun Valley Air Quality Improvement Initiative Advisory Committee meeting, and we want YOU to be part of the conversation. Together, we’re helping Boyle Heights breathe easier. 💙

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, nearly 5,000 HEPA air purifiers and 2,500 masks have been provided and more than $155,000 has been raised to support families affected by the warehouse fire.

But our work is not over. Every donation made through September 4 will be matched, doubling your impact and helping provide clean-air resources, asthma education, and HEPA air purifiers to families who need them.
