The Commonwealth of The Bahamas officially opens Parliament today, marking the commencement of a new legislative session and an important moment in the nation’s democratic tradition.

The Opening of Parliament brings together the House of Assembly, the Senate, and the Crown, represented by the Governor-General, in a ceremonial observance rooted in constitutional tradition and civic accountability.

A central feature of the ceremony is the Speech from the Throne, which outlines the Government’s legislative agenda, national priorities, and policy direction for the year ahead.
