During his first official visit to Nevada, Ambassador Modi Ephraim met with leaders across academia, the Jewish community, and the Nevada State Legislature, reaffirming the importance of strengthening the Nevada–Israel relationship.

At UNLV, the Ambassador met with university leadership, including , Board of Regents Chair , and Regent , for important discussions on combating campus antisemitism, strengthening education, and fostering an environment of understanding and mutual respect for future generations.

At Temple Beth Sholom , the Ambassador met with Rabbi Felipe Goodman to hear firsthand about the challenges facing the Jewish community since October 7, and the vital work being done to strengthen Jewish life, foster resilience, and build bridges across communities and generations.

In meetings with Assemblymember and Senator James , the Ambassador expressed his appreciation for their leadership in advancing legislation to combat antisemitism and discussed the importance of deepening the longstanding partnership between Nevada and Israel.

Ambassador Ephraim extends his gratitude to the many leaders who welcomed him to Las Vegas and looks forward to building on these meaningful conversations and partnerships in the months and years ahead.

A historic first for Israel at IMEX! 🇮🇱

Today, Ambassador , alongside Shelley Berkley, inaugurated Israel’s first-ever pavilion at the IMEX convention in Las Vegas.

Joining destinations from across the globe, Israel proudly showcased its rich history, vibrant culture, breathtaking landscapes, and world-class hospitality.

Ambassador Ephraim delivered a clear message that after several challenging years, Israel is ready to welcome the world once again. With renewed optimism and open arms, Israel looks forward to welcoming visitors from every corner of the world.

Mayor Berkley echoed the importance of the strong relationship between Las Vegas and Israel, reaffirming a shared commitment to deepening ties and expanding opportunities for cooperation in the years ahead.

Three years after October 7, over 1,000 Christians from around the world came to the Nova massacre site.

Guided by their faith, they came to stand with Israel, to remember, and to make sure these stories are never forgotten.

One year ago today, after two years in Hamas captivity, Israeli hostages were finally reunited with their families. 🎗️🇮🇱

Some embraces say everything words cannot.

On October 13, 2025, the final 20 living hostages returned from Gaza following two years in Palestinian Hamas’ captivity. Their families could finally hold them again after 738 days, and an entire nation shared their relief, even as we hold deep grief for those who did not return home alive.

One year later, we hold the survivors and their families close as they continue to heal and carry the memory of those we lost with us always. 💛🇮🇱

However, they did not let that stop them from achieving their dream to serve in combat units. This week we take a deep dive into the themes of political exile, resilience, and identity fusion.

True solidarity comes from understanding our shared struggles. In keeping with our 2026 theme, “Unidos, somos más”, this week we look at two master storytellers from Chile and Peru whose works grapple with exile, memory, and cultural fusion.

🇨🇱 Ariel Dorfman: A world-renowned Argentinian-Chilean-American human rights activist and playwright (famous for Death and the Maiden), his writing powerfully investigates political trauma, resilience, and what it means to live between cultures.

Their stories prove that even in times of dislocation, bringing our cultural pieces together makes us whole.



Isaac Goldemberg: His landmark novel, The Fragmented Life of Don Jacobo Lerner, is a masterpiece of Peruvian literature that brilliantly examines the intersection of Jewish, Catholic, and Indigenous realities in Peru.

We will never forget October 7. But the act of remembrance asks something more of us. It asks us to recall. To confront the pain. The horror. The torture. The terror. The barbarism. The atrocities. One by one.

Last night, the Jewish community of Los Angeles came together to do just that. To ensure that none of us carries the weight of that day alone. To remind the survivors, the bereaved families, and all those whose lives were forever changed that they are not alone in their grief—and that we will continue to confront, process, and carry the memory of this tragedy together.

In his remarks, Ambassador Modi Ephraim reminded us that remembrance must also strengthen our resolve. That we must stand united in confronting antisemitism and anti-Zionism. The fight against terror continues, and our vigilance, solidarity, and determination must never waver.

The Ambassador also reflected on the profound significance of this Jewish New Year—the first to begin with no hostages remaining in Gaza. For the first time in three years, we have the space to grieve without the anguish of waiting for their return. To begin processing the full weight of what was lost.

Our gratitude to and all the partner organizations for bringing the community together in such a powerful act of remembrance—to honor those we lost, stand with those who survived, and reaffirm our collective promise: We will remember. We will bear witness. Never Again.
