Valley Charter Elementary School

Valley Charter Elementary School Valley Charter Elementary School (VCES) is a free, parent-initiated public charter school.

Launched in September 2010, VCES continues to grow and commit itself to ensure that every student achieves success in his or her learning. We value community, diversity, responsibility, and academic excellence. Our classrooms are small, our environment warm, and our instruction dynamic. VCES serves the whole child and fosters in each student a lifelong commitment to intellectual exploration, indiv

idual growth, and social responsibility. We embrace, celebrate, and benefit from the ethnic, linguistic, and socioeconomic diversity of our community by promoting family, school, and community partnerships. Our emphasis on Project-Based Learning allows children to be actively involved in their own learning. Children are engaged in literacy through daily Readers' and Writers' Workshops. Singapore Math is used across the grade levels with a heavy emphasis on problem-solving and mathematics fluency. Our rigorous program emphasizes critical thinking, collaboration, and responsibility.

Close your social loop all year long by getting involved in VCES volunteering! Whether you like working behind the scenes or being out front, there are lots of ways to support our school community: help teachers with classroom projects, edit videos, donate hospitality supplies, chaperone field trips, serve hot lunch, help at school events, and more.
