North Valley Caring Services In NVCS’ community 41% of families live on incomes below federal poverty level, and 97% of students are considered not fluent in English.

We are a nonprofit organization serving the residents in the San Fernando Valley, offering a wide array of programs to enable residents to lift themselves out of poverty, while also encouraging them to build a vision for their community's future. NVCS actively addresses these needs and those necessary for self-sufficiency by offering 3 major programs, which include literacy classes for the entire

family, after-school youth services, and supportive services for the homeless and local population. Today these programs serve approximately 3,000 individuals each year. Without our programs adults would not have access to English as a 2nd Language classes, bettering their opportunity for employment; pre-school aged children would not gain the necessary skills to enter kindergarten prepared to learn; youth would not have a safe place to go, away from local gangs, where they receive the support they need to succeed; homeless individuals would not receive a warm meal and hot shower several days a week; and so much more. As individuals and families have achieved, grown and succeeded, NVCS has witnessed positive change begin to spread throughout the entire community. One person, one family, and one community at a time, NVCS is making a difference.

💙 Special thanks to our community friends at MiniMed! 💙

Last Friday, their amazing team volunteered at our drive-thru food pantry. Even the heat didn’t stop them from showing up and serving YOU—our community! ☀️🙌

Serving 500+ families every week is a big task, and having community partners alongside us makes it possible. We are so grateful for organizations like MiniMed that help us keep our neighbors fed and supported. ❤️

🏠💙 A BIG STEP FORWARD FOR OUR UNHOUSED NEIGHBORS!

Our NVCS Outreach Team was honored to attend the grand opening of Hope the Mission’s new Tiny Homes community in Sun Valley, which will provide shelter for 200 people experiencing homelessness. 🙌

Since 2021, our Outreach Team has been working alongside individuals experiencing homelessness in Council District 6, building relationships, providing support, and connecting people to resources and services.

This weeks opening represents one more step toward getting people off the streets and into safe, stable shelter. 🏠✨

We’re grateful to our community partners who continue to work together to create pathways from homelessness to hope. 💙

🏠💙 ¡UN GRAN PASO ADELANTE PARA NUESTRA COMUNIDAD!

Esta semana, nuestro Equipo de Alcance Comunitario de NVCS tuvo el honor de asistir a la gran inauguración de la nueva comunidad de Tiny Homes de Hope the Mission en Sun Valley, que proporcionará alojamiento a 200 personas que actualmente viven en las calles. 🙌

Desde 2021, nuestro equipo de alcance ha estado trabajando junto a personas que viven en situación de calle en el Distrito 6, creando relaciones de confianza, brindando apoyo y conectando a las personas con recursos y servicios.

🌟 La inauguración de esta semana representa un paso más para ayudar a las personas a salir de las calles y acceder a un lugar seguro y estable donde vivir. 🏠✨

Estamos agradecidos con nuestros socios comunitarios que continúan trabajando juntos para crear caminos hacia la estabilidad, la esperanza y una vivienda segura. 💙
