Politics, medicine, and culture in a single visit to Washington, D.C. 🇱🇧🇺🇸
The Consul General of Lebanon in Los Angeles, Charbel Nassar, had the pleasure of attending the annual gala of the American Task Force on Lebanon (ATFL), which engages U.S. policymakers to strengthen U.S.–Lebanon relations and advance policies supporting Lebanon’s stability, sovereignty, and recovery.
The gathering brought together Lebanese Americans from across the United States, united by their commitment to Lebanon. Attendees included H.E. Michel Issa, U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon; H.E. Nada Hamadeh, Ambassador of Lebanon to the United States; Lebanese American members of Congress; and distinguished politicians, journalists, business leaders, entrepreneurs, and community members.
The visit also included the annual gala of the International Lebanese Medical Association–USA (ILMA-USA), bringing together leading Lebanese physicians to raise funds for research scholarships and opportunities for Lebanese medical students and graduates in the United States.
These gatherings were a powerful reminder of the Lebanese community’s immense contribution to its homeland. Lebanon’s potential is extraordinary, and its diaspora’s love for the country is immeasurable. Through their achievements, generosity, and enduring commitment, Lebanese abroad remain a vital source of strength and hope for Lebanon.
Washington, D.C., is also an oasis of culture. The visit would not have been complete without exploring its museums, memorials, and the U.S. Capitol alongside Lebanon’s Honorary Consul in Seattle, Mr. Alex Daher, and his family.
