🇱🇧 Lebanese Community Outreach Visit to Seattle

The Consul General of Lebanon in Los Angeles visited the Lebanese community in Seattle during a two-day program organized by Honorary Consul Mr. Alex (Mohammad) Daher, with the participation of Ambassador Edward M. Gabriel, President and CEO of the American Task Force on Lebanon (ATFL), and Mr. Philippe Nassif, Vice President of Operations.

The visit included 3MD, Inc. / Denali Advanced Integration, co-founded and chaired by Mr. Daher, highlighting an inspiring Lebanese-American success story in the technology sector.

At a reception hosted by Honorary Consul Daher and his family, the Consul General met with members of the Lebanese community and emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between Lebanon and its diaspora. He also thanked Ambassador Gabriel and ATFL for their continued efforts in support of Lebanon.

Marking the first visit of a Lebanese Consul General to Seattle in many years, the occasion reaffirmed the Consulate’s commitment to engaging Lebanese communities across the West Coast and fostering greater Lebanese-American cooperation.

🇱🇧NAM Convention 2026 | San Diego, California

The Consul General of Lebanon in Los Angeles attended the three-day annual convention of the National Apostolate of Maronites (NAM), held this year on the West Coast in San Diego under the presidency of Dr. Diana Ayoub, a distinguished Lebanese-American and active member of our community.

This year’s convention was hosted by Saint Ephrem Maronite Catholic Church in San Diego, with Fr. Toufic Nasr serving as Convention Host Pastor, alongside Convention Co-Chairs Mrs. Eva Bsaibes and Mrs. Ellen Saad.

The convention was honored by the presence of His Eminence Bishop A. Elias Zaidan, Bishop of the Eparchy of Our Lady of Lebanon of Los Angeles, and His Eminence Bishop Gregory J. Mansour, Bishop of the Eparchy of Saint Maron of Brooklyn, together with members of the Maronite clergy from across the United States, prominent Lebanese-American figures, and members of the community.

Also participating were representatives of the Maronite Foundation in the World, including its President, Mrs. Rose Choueiri, and Director General , Mrs. Hiam Boustani, who traveled especially from Lebanon to attend the convention.

Bringing together nearly 1,000 participants, the convention provided an important space to renew the Maronite community’s commitment to Lebanon, strengthen the connection between new generations of Lebanese Maronites and their homeland, and highlight the importance of preserving the Maronite cultural heritage as an integral part of the diverse constituencies that shape Lebanon’s identity as an oasis of coexistence and a message of peace.

The Consul General had the pleasure of participating in the convention’s various activities, which included liturgical celebrations, cultural exchanges, community sessions, and a startup competition. In his address to the participants, he emphasized the importance of registering every Lebanese child born abroad, thereby preserving their legal connection to Lebanon.

The Consul General also attended the closing Divine Liturgy, celebrated by Bishop Zaidan, marking the conclusion of three days dedicated to faith, heritage, community, and Lebanon.

The Consul General of Lebanon in Los Angeles had the honor of attending, upon the invitation of H.E. Ambassador Dr. Hossam Eldeen Aly, Consul General of Egypt in Los Angeles, the reception held at his residence to celebrate the National Day of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The occasion brought together friends of Egypt, members of the Egyptian, Lebanese and Arab community, the foreign consular corps, dignitaries, and business leaders from across Los Angeles. It was a valued opportunity to reaffirm Lebanon's solidarity with Egypt and to celebrate the enduring brotherly ties that unite our two nations. The Consulate General of Lebanon in Los Angeles attended the Annual Gala of the Lebanese Ladies Cultural Society (LLCS), a longstanding institution whose mission extends far beyond a single evening. More than a celebration, the Gala reflects the Society's enduring commitment to supporting education in Lebanon and strengthening the bonds of the Lebanese-American community.

Upon the invitation of its President, Mrs. Fatina Jaber, the Consul General had the honor of meeting many distinguished members of the community and, during his remarks, acknowledged the remarkable work carried out by the LLCS over the years in advancing educational opportunities in Lebanon.

The evening also provided a meaningful opportunity to honor the memory of the late Mrs. Badiha Alwan, a devoted member of the community and a five-time President of the LLCS. Her dedication, leadership, and generosity have left a lasting legacy, reminding us that the impact of good work endures across generations.

Consul General Meets H.E. Governor Gavin Newsom and H.E. Lieutenant Governor Ambassador Eleni Kounalakis in Sacramento

As part of his official visit to Sacramento, the capital of the Golden State of California, the Consul General of Lebanon had the opportunity to meet with Governor Gavin Newsom and Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis during a reception hosted for members of the diplomatic and consular corps at the Governor’s Mansion.

During the reception, the Consul General exchanged views with both the Governor and the Lieutenant Governor, emphasizing the longstanding and important relationship between Lebanon and the United States, and particularly with the State of California, home to a vibrant Lebanese-American community that continues to contribute significantly to the prosperity and cultural diversity of the state.

The discussions also touched on Lebanon’s current challenges and future prospects. The Consul General expressed his hope that Lebanon will overcome this difficult phase in its history and continue its path toward stability, sovereignty, and lasting peace, enabling its people to thrive and realize their full potential.

The meeting reaffirmed the strong people-to-people ties that connect Lebanon and California and highlighted the shared commitment to fostering dialogue, cooperation, and mutual understanding.

A wonderful evening of connection, pride, and community.

The Consul General of Lebanon in Los Angeles Charbel Nassar was honored to join the World Lebanese Cultural Union (WLCU) Meet & Greet, bringing together members of the Lebanese-American community for meaningful conversations and shared moments that help keep the bond between Lebanon and its diaspora alive.

The event was enriched by the presence of distinguished guests from Lebanon, MP Dr. Najat Aoun Saliba, and MEA Captains Roula and Fadi Hoteit, whose inspiring remarks filled the room with hope and pride despite the challenges our country continues to face.

A special thank you to Mr. Fares Wehbe, President of the World Lebanese Cultural Union, for this wonderful opportunity, and to Mrs. Guilda Asmar, President of the WLCU Los Angeles Chapter, for her warm introduction and heartfelt welcome.

Together, we celebrate our heritage, strengthen our community, and reaffirm our enduring connection to Lebanon. 🇱🇧

Upon the kind invitation of Her Excellency the Consul General of Italy in Los Angeles, Mrs. Raffaella Valentini, the Consul General of Lebanon in Los Angeles had the pleasure of participating in the celebration of the National Day of Italy, marking 80 years of the Italian Republic.

The event was held in the presence of distinguished guests including California State Senator Tony Strickland, Deputy Mayor of International Affairs Dilpreet Sidhu, Councilmember Tim McOsker, Hon. Christian Di Sanzo, Italian Cultural Institute Director Emanuele Amendola, Italian Trade Agency Director Giosafat Rigano, and Italian National Tourism Board representative Fabrizio Lanzafame, as well as LA28 Senior Vice President of Sports Niccolò Campriani, and the Mayor of Beverly Hills, Mrs. Sharona Nazarian, alongside members of the consular corps, business leaders, and artists.

We were also honored by the presence of Olympic champion Francesca Lollobrigida, whose achievements on the road to Milano Cortina 2026 embody Italy’s sporting excellence and the shared Olympic spirit leading toward Los Angeles 2028. 🥇

A symbolic highlight of the ceremony was the passing of the Olympic torch from Milano Cortina 2026 to Los Angeles 2028, marked by the lighting of the Olympic flame at the LA Memorial Coliseum. The celebration concluded with a remarkable performance by the USC Trojan Marching Band. 🏟️

It was a true honor to celebrate Italy—an enduring friend and partner of Lebanon—in an atmosphere of friendship and collaboration, with hopes for continued strengthening of our ties in the years ahead. 🇱🇧🇮🇹
