The LA Cedars Rotary Club organized a fundraising event in support of the distressed people of Lebanon affected by the ongoing war back home.

During the event, the LA Cedars Rotary Chapter conferred the 2026 Rotary Community Service Award upon Dr. Joseph Jabra of the Lebanese American University, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to education and his continued support for students and graduates of one of Lebanon’s most esteemed educational institutions LAU.

The Consul General of Lebanon attended the event and shared the pride of witnessing the honoring of Dr. Jabra, while also commending the remarkable humanitarian and community efforts led by the LA Cedars Rotary Club under the presidency of Mr. Serge Haddad.

Today, the House of Lebanon (HOL) opened its doors to the Lebanese community for a vibrant day of culture, connection, and togetherness. From backgammon games and darbuka lessons for kids to painting activities and delicious food, the atmosphere felt warmly familiar — a true reminder of Lebanese gatherings back home.

The beautiful space offered by HOL, combined with its welcoming spirit, brought everyone together in a harmonious and joyful setting. Young Lebanese-owned initiatives, AvocaLA and Hummus Pro, also showcased their products — one feeding the muscles, the other feeding the soul. 🇱🇧 Charbel Nassar

During her visit to Los Angeles, the Consul General had the pleasure of welcoming Member of Parliament Dr. Najat Aoun Saliba to the Consulate General of Lebanon in Los Angeles.

The visit provided an opportunity to present the work being carried out in service of the Lebanese community, while also discussing the community’s presence, contributions, and evolving needs across the region.

The Consulate General greatly appreciated the meaningful exchange and MP Saliba’s interest in strengthening ties with the Lebanese diaspora on the west coast.

Seventy-five years of fellowship, faith, and service to the Arab American community were celebrated in a warm gathering in Los Angeles hosted by Esper Kanaan, bringing together distinguished religious and community leaders from across Southern California.

The Consul General of Lebanon in Los Angeles, Charbel Nassar, joined His Eminence Metropolitan Saba, Metropolitan of All North America, His Grace Bishop Anthony, His Grace Bishop Elias Ziadan, His Grace Bishop Francois Beyrouti, and numerous clergy members from the Orthodox, Maronite, and Melkite Churches in Los Angeles County for the 75th anniversary celebration of The Loafers.

Founded in 1950 by Orthodox Christian men of Lebanese heritage, The Loafers have long represented a remarkable tradition of fellowship, prayer, generosity, and commitment to the betterment of the Arab American community through charitable support and educational scholarships.

The gathering reflected the enduring values of unity, faith, heritage, and community service that continue to strengthen the Lebanese and wider Arab American presence in Los Angeles.

Anissa Helou bringing Lebanese recipes to Los Angeles.

The Consul General of Lebanon attended a special evening at Now Serving LA, a culinary bookshop, for a conversation between renowned Lebanese chef Anissa Helou, recipient of the James Beard Foundation Award, and restaurant critic Bill Addison.

The visit was not only in support of Chef Helou, but also an opportunity to celebrate the richness of Lebanon’s culinary heritage—an enduring reminder that, regardless of its size, Lebanon continues to offer profound cultural contributions to the world.

During the event, the Consul General greeted Chef Helou and congratulated her for elevating Lebanon’s presence on the global gastronomic stage. The gathering brought together a diverse audience of various backgrounds and nationalities, further enriching the spirit of the occasion.

The Consul General expressed his best wishes for her continued success and had the honor of receiving a signed copy of her book.
