Flashback Friday: This was the "Alternatives to Incarceration: Career Pathways" panel at the 2025 Together We Thrive Summit & Festival, Powered by JCOD.

This session focused on innovative workforce development programs that serve as alternatives to incarceration, offering justice-impacted individuals a pathway to stability, purpose, and long-term success.

This is the type of art that comes from the justice impacted community, and this is the type of content JCOD is proud to feature at our annual Summit and Festival.

The Adult Care Management Program at JCOD hosted a JCOD Care Management newly contracted Provider orientation meeting for the newly awarded contracts given to 29 community-based organizations that will provide trauma-informed reentry services across Los Angeles County, which now includes Enhanced Care Management Services (ECM).

These partnerships represent a multi-million-dollar investment in restoring lives, strengthening communities, and creating pathways to stability and opportunity.

JCOD welcomed more than 200 people united by a shared commitment to making a lasting impact.

JCOD invites community-based organizations to apply for funding through the fifth round of Los Angeles County's Care First Community Investment (CFCI) Care Grants, which support community-based services across Los Angeles County.

These funds cover thirty different Program Areas across the five CFCI Strategies: 1) Diversion, Behavioral Health & Wellness; 2) Economic Opportunity & Sustainability; 3) Education Access & Youth Development; 4) Housing Stability; and 5) Reentry & Community Reintegration.

Applications must be submitted by August 24, 2026 at 11:59 PM to be considered.

CFCI was created by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and placed under JCOD’s stewardship in November 2022 to invest in community-based services and expand access to critical resources across the County.

Since its launch, LA County CFCI Care Grants have directed more than $350 million to community-based organizations serving residents across all five supervisorial districts.

In addition to "nuts and bolts" training for community-based organizations, this type of curriculum is also part of JCOD's Incubation Academy - being human-centered and knowing your "why."

Cohort 12's "Tell Your Story" session was touching and served as positive reinforcement for nonprofit founders of how far they have come.

As the World Cup closes this weekend with the championship and third place games, we're looking back to last weekend and the World Cup Fan Zone at Whittier Narrows.

People from all over the world came out and enjoyed a day of soccer, games and community. JCOD is proud to have been a small part of the good vibes that flowed.
