Today, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, honor the survivors and families, and recognize the first responders, volunteers and relief workers who answered the call to help.

Twenty-five years later, their example continues to inspire service, preparedness and compassion in communities across the country.

As extreme heat becomes an increasing threat in Nepalgunj, the Nepal Red Cross Society, local government and Red Cross partners are working together to help communities stay safe. Through public awareness campaigns, neighborhood outreach, cooling centers and drinking water stations, communities are gaining the tools they need to prepare for dangerous temperatures before they become emergencies.

If you're experiencing extreme heat:
-Stay hydrated by drinking water regularly.
-Limit outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day.
-Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
-Check on older adults, children and others who may be more vulnerable to heat-related illness.

Together, we're helping communities adapt to rising temperatures and build resilience in the face of a changing climate.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Many children undergoing cancer treatment rely on blood and platelet transfusions as part of their care. Every donation helps ensure hospitals have the blood products needed for young patients and others facing serious health challenges.

This month, honor their strength by making an appointment to give blood. Visit redcrossblood.org to schedule your donation. ❤️🩸

What do school spirit and blood donation have in common?

They both bring people together for a greater purpose. 🩸

We are proud to partner with Abbott the Rose Bowl Stadium to launch the 2026 We Give Blood Campaign. From Big Ten mascots to dedicated donors, the day showcased how a simple act of generosity can help save lives.
