We are always thinking of ways to keep uplifting an ! Last week, our staff attended a retreat and engaged in meaningful conversations about how we can continue supporting all Angelenos. Thank you to our Human Relations Commissioner Aziza Hasan for helping moderate the discussion. Some of our priorities include strengthening our community partnerships, creating more upward mobility opportunities, and growing our mission.

This month is an opportunity to recognize the contributions of the Filipino American community and honor the ways Filipino culture and history has shaped LA. Last night, the LA Civil Rights Department attended the Filipino American History Month Celebration and Lighting Ceremony at City Hall. We were proud to join Councilmember Jurado, the first Filipina elected to LA City Council, as well as other city and community leaders.
