In the political arena, plans for candidate forums are in the works for the next wave of elections. In cooperation with the local Business Improvement District (B.I.D.) and other chambers of commerce the main intention is to focus on job creation. As a licensed real estate appraiser and broker, Chamber President Perron is commissioning a report on Base Jobs - jobs that have a multiplier effect within the local economy. Base jobs are jobs that are proven to carry such weight and importance that for every new base job as many as 6-8 ADDITIONAL NEW JOBS will be created and available to be filled by our residents. With our local Kaiser Permanente and the Children's Hospital and their existing base jobs, East Hollywood is geared to focus on the businesses that will multiply our employment opportunities with more base jobs in education, tourism, health care and the entertainment industry.
