National Coming Out Day is an official city holiday, and this year, we’re celebrating with one of our amazing organizations in the district!

babygaytv was founded by PJ Brescia as a non-profit focused on helping people navigate the coming out process. Through their podcast and other work, they have helped countless other baby g**s discover their true selves.

Tomorrow, Sunday, October 11, they’ll be celebrating National Coming Out Day again, at the historic theblackcatla where they will be putting together the first 100 of their new “welcome wagon” initiative - a special gift box filled with everything you need to feel great about coming out, and celebrating your identity. Come help put these boxes together, and celebrate with your community. Because coming out looks great on you ;)

Join us TOMORROW, Sunday October 11 from 9am to 4pm, for the return of CicLAvia | LA Pop-Up Parks —Heart of LA! Bike, skate, or walk over 6 miles of open streets between Downtown, Chinatown, Little Tokyo, Arts District, Boyle Heights, and Echo Park!

CicLAvia is an amazing nonprofit in LA that helps us reimagine what Los Angeles could look like when we prioritize pedestrian safety, through their open-streets events.

But before you go, make sure you note these important safety tips, and guarantee a fun, safe, and car-free experience for everyone!

Community Green Days at Barnsdall Art Park are back, and the park is looking for volunteers to help keep this gem of the City green and clean!

On the first Sunday morning of every month, from October through May, volunteers will help with trash pickup, light yard work, and other small tasks that keep the park clean, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone.

Green Days also support an important fire-safety effort - Barnsdall’s beautiful pine grove needs regular care, and volunteers help rake dry pine needles to reduce fire risk and protect this treasured community space.

No experience is needed, and all are welcome. We provide the tools, coffee, and donuts—just bring a hat, sunscreen, water, and your enthusiasm for the park.
