It’s a start; thank you to the for putting this on nohonc.org. However, with a Land Acknowledgment, we must have action. Otherwise, this acknowledgment is purely performative. In the next couple of months, on the Arts, Parks, and Beautification committee, we will proactively partner with Tongva members and community leaders to present to the NoHo Board and put this acknowledgment into action.
“The NoHo Neighborhood Council would like to acknowledge that we live, work and play on the traditional land of the Tongva people, past and present, and honor with gratitude the land itself and the people who have stewarded it throughout the generations.”
