The Los Alamitos Police Department is aware of individuals impersonating Department personnel and making fraudulent phone calls using fictitious names and badge numbers. In some cases, the caller ID may appear as “City of Los Alamitos” or “Los Alamitos Police Department.”


These calls are fraudulent in nature. Please remember that scammers can manipulate caller ID information to appear legitimate. If you receive a similar phone call, do not provide any personal or financial information.

We are aware of the chemical leak in the City of Garden Grove, and are actively monitoring the situation. As of now, our city is not affected.

There will be a public information hotline activated later today 714-628-7085. Please call this number for information, and refrain from calling dispatch unless you have an emergency in our city.
