The City of Loris was incorporated with only a one-mile radius on July 26, 1902. Since then, the City has grown to a total area of 3.1 square miles with approximately 2,600 residents.

A second event previously scheduled, (Valentines Lock-in) has been canceled. An event to replace it will be scheduled at a later date.

UPDATE: LORIS TORNADO CONFIRMED
The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF-1 tornado with winds estimated at 90 mph moved over the Loris High School campus around 12:45 pm today. Thankfully nobody was injured.

A possible tornado has touched down this afternoon at Loris High school. There is damage to several vehicles in the parking lot. No injuries reported. More information to come.
